History
Introduced in 1887 to the design of F W Webb for the London and North Western Railway the Jumbo 2-4-0 were used on passenger services. Highly regarded for their good performance they were in 1889 followed by the small Jumbo 2-4-0. The difference between the two classes was in the wheel diameter 6' 9" for the Jumbo and 6' 3" for
the small Jumbo.
Many of the two classes were taken over by the LMS. Non passed to BR.
